The Michael L. Printz Award honors a young adult book that exemplifies literary excellence. It is given be YALSA, a division of the American Library Association. Before the book can be chosen, a committee is created. This committee reads young adult books published within the current year and selects the nominees. Before the award is to be given at the ALA Mid-Winter Meeting, the committee votes for the winner and if applicable, the honors. This year, we will be hosting a Mock Printz Award Party on Thursday, January 29 at 4:30 p.m. in the Teen Space at Defiance Public Library.
We have compiled a list of nominees for the party. If possible, read a few of the books and come to the party to discuss with fellow teens and vote for the winner. Snacks will be provided. For more information, check out the new page entitled Mock Printz Award 2015.
